Skin Boosters
Skin Boosters Explained: Profhilo, Profhilo Structura or Polynucleotides?

"Skin booster" is a term used for injectable treatments that improve the quality of the skin itself, rather than changing the shape of the face. Dr Hana offers three. Here is how they compare.
Key Points
- Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid skin hydrating treatment. Results last up to 6 months.
- Profhilo Structura works in the deeper layers of the skin to target loss of volume and sagging. Results last up to 9 months.
- Polynucleotides work at the cellular level to stimulate production of collagen and elastin.
- Two sessions are usually advised.
What Is a Skin Booster?
Skin boosters are injectable treatments that aim to improve hydration, texture and firmness. Unlike dermal fillers, they are not used to add shape to the lips, cheeks or jaw line.
Profhilo
Hyaluronic acid skin hydrating treatment, which acts to improve the skin tissue quality by boosting and smoothing the fine lines as well as lifting and tightening the sagging tissue. Results Last up to 6 months. Each syringe is 2ml, and used to inject ten points. Two sessions are advised.
Profhilo Structura
Hyaluronic acid injection for the deeper layers of the skin to target loss of volume and sagging. Aim is to remodel and create a lift. Results last up to 9 months. Each syringe is 2ml. Two sessions are advised.
Polynucleotides
Polynucleotides are a natural solution to ageing. They are fragments of DNA extracted from salmon, sterilised, highly purified and injected into the skin. They work at the cellular level to stimulate production of collagen and elastin. Results seen from 3 weeks, with best results 3 months following treatment. Most people benefit from two sessions.
Which One Is Right for Me?
As a general guide, Profhilo is often chosen for hydration and laxity, Profhilo Structura where there is deeper volume loss and sagging, and polynucleotides for regeneration, texture and the under-eye area. Your skin, your concerns and your medical history decide the best starting point, which Dr Hana will advise at your consultation.
