Profhilo Explained and How It Compares to Other Injectables

Profhilo is a popular skin treatment, but it is often misunderstood. Here is a clear guide to what it does, what it does not do, and how it compares to the other injectable treatments Dr Hana offers.
What Is Profhilo?
Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid skin hydrating treatment, which acts to improve the skin tissue quality by boosting and smoothing the fine lines as well as lifting and tightening the sagging tissue.
Rather than adding shape or volume to one area, it is designed to improve the overall quality of the skin. Each syringe is 2ml, and used to inject ten points.
Profhilo vs Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours, for example the lips, cheeks, chin and jaw line.
Profhilo works differently. It is not used to change the shape of the face, but to hydrate and improve the skin itself. Many patients have one or the other, and some benefit from both. Dr Hana will advise which is right for you at your consultation.
Profhilo vs Profhilo Structura
Profhilo Structura is a hyaluronic acid injection for the deeper layers of the skin to target loss of volume and sagging. Aim is to remodel and create a lift.
In short, Profhilo focuses on skin quality and hydration, while Structura works deeper where volume has been lost. Results from Profhilo last up to 6 months, and from Structura up to 9 months.
Profhilo vs Polynucleotides
Polynucleotides are also a skin quality treatment, but they work in a different way. They work at the cellular level to stimulate production of collagen and elastin as well as encourage repair of damage from the sun, acne, rosacea and reduce inflammation.
Profhilo is often chosen for hydration and laxity, and polynucleotides for regeneration, texture and the under-eye area. Your skin, your concerns and your history decide which is the better starting point.
How Many Sessions Do I Need?
Two sessions are advised for both Profhilo and Profhilo Structura. Dr Hana will plan the timing with you at your consultation, based on your skin and the result you would like.
How Much Does Profhilo Cost?
At Dr Hana Aesthetics, one syringe of Profhilo (2ml) is £250, two syringes are £450 and three syringes are £600. Profhilo Structura is £250 for one syringe and £450 for two.
