Profhilo Structura in Queen's Park, London: A Simple Guide

Profhilo Structura is one of the newer injectable treatments people across the UK are asking about. Here Dr Hana explains what it is, how it differs from Profhilo, and what to expect at our clinic in Queen's Park, London.

What Is Profhilo Structura?

Profhilo Structura is made by IBSA, the company behind the original Profhilo. It is a hyaluronic acid injection for the deeper layers of the skin to target loss of volume and sagging. Aim is to remodel and create a lift.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally in the body that helps skin hold on to water. Each syringe is 2ml and combines high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, made without the cross-linking agents used in many dermal fillers. It is placed in the layer of fat just beneath the skin and is used on the face only.

How Is It Different From Profhilo?

It helps to think of them as working on neighbouring layers. Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid skin hydrating treatment, which acts to improve the skin tissue quality by boosting and smoothing the fine lines as well as lifting and tightening the sagging tissue.

Profhilo Structura sits one layer deeper, in the fat beneath the skin, and is aimed at structure and support rather than surface quality. It is given with a cannula (a fine, blunt-tipped tube) at the side of the face. Some people have one treatment, some have the other, and some have both. Dr Hana will explain which, if either, makes sense for you.

Who Might It Suit?

People who ask about Profhilo Structura often describe a face that looks a little more tired, flatter at the sides, or less defined along the cheek and lower face than it used to. This can happen with age, and some people notice it after weight loss.

It is not a dermal filler, so it is not used to shape or add volume to a specific feature such as the lips, chin or jaw line. If that is what you are hoping for, Dr Hana may talk you through her dermal filler options instead. Suitability is always decided at a face to face consultation, after Dr Hana has examined the treatment area, discussed your medical history and listened to what you would like to change.

What Happens at the Appointment?

Your first face to face consultation at our Queen's Park clinic is FREE. Dr Hana will ask about your health, any medicines you take and any previous treatments, and explain what Profhilo Structura can and cannot do. You will have time to ask questions, and there is no pressure to go ahead on the day.

If you decide to proceed, the skin is cleaned and the product is placed with a cannula at the side of the face. Dr Hana will explain what is normal to expect in the days afterwards, and you can read our aftercare guides.

How Long Does It Last and How Much Does It Cost?

Results last up to 9 months, although this varies from person to person. Two sessions are advised.

At Dr Hana Aesthetics, one syringe (2ml) of Profhilo Structura is £250 and two syringes are £450. A £50 deposit secures your appointment. If you are also interested in skin quality, Profhilo is £250 for one syringe, £450 for two and £600 for three, with results lasting up to 6 months.

Are There Any Risks?

All treatments carry some risk, and Profhilo Structura is no exception. Possible effects such as redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising where the cannula was inserted will be explained to you before treatment, along with less common risks.
