Before You Book

Downtime, Aftercare & Risks

All treatments carry some risk. Dr Hana will explain what is right for you, and you will be given written aftercare after your treatment.

01 · Downtime

What Is Normal?

  • Most people go back to work the same day.
  • Swelling, redness and bruising are common and usually settle within a week.
  • After Sculptra, the area can look fuller at first. This fades within a few days, and the result then builds gradually over the following weeks as new collagen forms.

02 · Aftercare

What Should I Avoid?

  • Sculptra: massage the area only as Dr Hana shows you.
  • Radiesse: limit sun and heat for 24 hours, or until any swelling and redness has settled.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and alcohol for about 24 hours.
  • Radiesse can show on X-rays and CT scans, so please tell anyone taking a scan that you have had it.

03 · Risks

Side Effects & Risks

  • Common: swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness.
  • Less common: small lumps under the skin (nodules), which can appear weeks or months later, infection or an allergic reaction.
  • Rare but serious: blocking a blood vessel (vascular occlusion), as with any injected filler. It needs urgent treatment.
